History - NSADA was formally established in 1966 and is a voluntary not for profit organization of the majority of the new vehicle franchised dealers in the province. Approximately 90% of the new vehicle franchised dealers in Nova Scotia are members. Membership in NSADA provides each dealer with automatic membership in the national organization, the Canadian Automobile Dealer's Association (CADA) which is located in Markham, Ontario. CADA is the national voice of new vehicle franchised dealers in Canada.

Purpose - To assist and protect its member dealers in those situations where their individual actions are ineffective and where collective, united action is required to bring about desirable results. The concept is a simple one...people working together can accomplish what one could not do alone. The 100 plus member dealers in Nova Scotia, combined with the approximate 3400 additional dealers in the rest of Canada presents a credible, unified, strong voice with all levels of government (Municipal, Provincial and Federal), the automotive manufacturers and related industry groups such as insurance companies, financial institutions, etc.

Structure - The NSADA has a Board of Directors comprised of new vehicle dealers from across the Province. Directors' positions are represented by an elected regional director from the nine geographic districts from across Nova Scotia to ensure complete provincial representation on the Board.
